Objectives
- Develop a clear understanding of the roles and responsibilities of a first responder in emergency care settings.
- Learn how to conduct a thorough patient assessment, including primary and secondary surveys.
- Master essential life-saving techniques such as airway management, including the use of adjuncts and suction, as well as manual handling of patients.
- Understand and apply basic life support (BLS) skills, including CPR and the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
- Gain proficiency in managing trauma-related emergencies, including hemorrhage control, splinting fractures, and dealing with spinal injuries.
- Provide emergency care for medical conditions such as heart attacks, strokes, seizures, diabetic episodes, and anaphylaxis.
